Out of the Box Emerging Artists Series
Town Center: January 13, 20 & 27

Back for its ninth season, the Out of the Box Emerging Artists Series is a free (yes, free!) event highlighting a carefully curated list of local artists. Performances take place at the Miller Studio Theatre, in collaboration with 89.5-WHRV’s Paul Shugrue and presented by Three Notch’d Brewing Co. Doors for the standing room only events open at 6 p.m., with performances starting at 7 p.m. Food and drinks are available for purchase. Performances are as follows:

Come celebrate the holidays on the beach! We love the holiday season on the Virginia Beach Oceanfront! The Boardwalk is lighting up with the Holiday Lights at the Beach. The BayPort Credit Union Holiday Lights at the Beach has been named one of the Southeast Tourism Society’s “Top 20 November Events” and one of the American Bus Association’s “Top 100 Events in North America”! More than 20,000 families a year make this unique light show a part of their holiday celebration. This “Fanta-Sea” of lights will dazzle and amaze holiday visitors and locals alike. 

In addition to the amazing lights, the beach is buzzing with holiday festivities; restaurants are dazzling with great food and favorites like fresh local oysters and rockfish specials, and the Annual Virginia Beach Christmas Market and local shops make for fun holiday shopping!

Holiday Lights at the Beach: Nov 19 – Jan 2

Guests drive their vehicles on the Virginia Beach Boardwalk through holiday, nautical, and adventure-themed light displays, listening on their radios to a soundtrack playing traditional holiday music. Festive fish, musical crabs, and hard-working elves – all in brightly colored lights against the moonlit Atlantic Ocean – are the stars of BayPort Credit Union Holiday Lights at the Beach. They are joined by Surfing Santa and a 40-foot tall dancing light Christmas tree, new for 2020! The magical light display features fish swimming overhead, color-changing archways, and light fixtures that pay tribute to the region’s Armed Forces community.
